Obituary of STANISLAWA (STELLA) WOJCIECHOWSKI

STANISLAWA (Stella) WOJCIECHOWSKI nee ANDRUKOWICZ November 1-1919 to January 9-2016 Peacefully on Saturday afternoon at the age of 96, our Mom passed into eternal peace, with her children by her side. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her children Helen Peterson (Paul Ficek) Janina McNaughton, son Ray of Red Deer AB, Anna Gunn (Randy) Grandchildren Jason McNaughton (Lara) of Surrey BC, Jaclyn & Kyle of Red Deer AB, Great Grandchildren, Dylan, Kadie, Jake & Luke of Surrey BC. Half Sister Lona in Russia and extended family here at home, in Poland & USA. Stella is predeceased by her Husband Edward, Parents Felix and Vincentia - Step Mom Emilia, Sisters Paulina, and Helena all from Poland, Brother In-law Peter, Nephew John of WPG. Mom lived in Otrubok Poland till 1942 moved to Germany, then Darmstadt for 3 years. In 1945 the War ended. Immigrated to London England 1947, was a Textile worker in Norwich London, till July, Came to Canada by boat on the Cunard White Star R.M.S. "Aquitania" landing in Canada Nov 21, 1949 and Married Dec 20, 1949. At time of Dad's passing, they shared 50 years of marriage. Mom & Dad started their life & family together outside of Winnipeg on a Farm. As their adjustment to living in Canada, became more enriched, they moved into Winnipeg. Mom worked as a private cleaning lady and was quickly taken in as one of the family by many of the families she worked for. She also worked evenings cleaning offices & took pride that a "Good Job" was done. Mom loved to cook and ensured you never left her home hungry. Mom's Family was always an important part of her life. She made lifelong friends in the neighbourhood. From her places of employment she held friendships close to her heart. Many of her life time friends have passed on. She treasured those who stayed with her the past 9 years of her life. The family would like to express Gratitude to all of those who connected with our Mom Stella, at Holy Family Nursing Home. A special Thank-you to Pricilla who cared for our Mom in the evenings with such love... We know our Mom will always remain in your hearts. Those who wish to share in Rosary prayer you are welcome to join us Friday, January 15, 2016 at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church 341 Selkirk Ave. Pallbearers, Jason McNaughton, Randy Gunn, Paul Ficek, Chester Senior & Chester Junior Wojciechowski, and Jeff Combe.
