Obituary of NELLIE (ANIELA) JELONEK OLEJNICZAK

NELLIE (ANIELA) JELONEK OLEJNICZAK Sadly, Nellie peacefully passed away on November 30, 2015 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Nellie was born in Piła, Poland in 1923, immigrated to Canada in 1950 and started a new life with her husband Walter and her young family. Nellie loved life and loved to cook, for many years she worked for Kelekis’ and Eaton’s as a short order cook. Coffee, tea and deserts were always available at home, as were homemade noodles for the grandchildren and potato pancakes for lunch. Mom was a long time parishioner of Holy Ghost Church and a member of the Catholic Women’s League, where she proudly served as president. She was also a member of the Polish Combatant's Association SPK No. 13. Most recently she was a resident of Luther Home where the kind staff lovingly took care of her for several years. Predeceased by her husband Walter and her brothers and sisters. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Dennis (Mary), Elizabeth (Joe), and Edward (Dorrie); her grandchildren: Angela (Stefan), Derek, Lisa (Mark), Kelly (Darren), Peter, Megan and Michael; great grandchildren: Jessica (Sebastian), Amanda, Alex and Ella; and great, great grandchild Zachary. Thank you to all the visitors, doctors and staff at Luther Home and Seven Oaks Hospital for taking care of Nellie. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 5, at 10:00 am at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Rosary will be prior to Mass at 9:30 am.
