Obituary of HELEN CEMBRUCH
HELEN CEMBRUCH (NEE JARMAREK)
August 28, 1924 – November 25, 2015
Peacefully, on November 25, 2015, at Seven Oaks General Hospital, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother Helen Cembruch went home to heaven at the age of 91.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Joe (Betty) and Wanda (Emil), her grandchildren Christine (Dave), Cherrie, Carla (Garvin) and Mary-Anne (Reg), great-grandchildren Sean (Michelle), Tyler (Emelda), Brett, Shane, Daylon, Carrie-Anne and Alissa-Lynn, her step-great-grandchildren Hannah and Elijah and her great-great-grandson Peter. She also leaves behind Stafford’s children from another marriage – Val and Allan and their families.
She was predeceased by her children Mary and Stanley, her parents Alexander and Carolina Jarmarek, her step-father Michael Pidhayny, her first husband Jan Cembruch (deceased 1975), and after remarrying in 1977, her second husband Stafford Bialkowski (deceased 2007).
Helen came to Canada with her family in 1959 from Poland in search of better opportunities. Raising her children in the North End of Winnipeg, she worked tirelessly as a health care aide at both Holy Family and St. Joseph Nursing Homes. She was a devoted member of Holy Ghost Parish on Selkirk Avenue and Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society and was a resident of the Polish Manor Home in her retirement. Here, she became very good friends with many wonderful ladies and shared many happy memories with them. Mom was a very loving, Godly and family oriented woman whose family meant everything to her. We will always remember how sweet it was to visit and spend time with her, as there was no one who could make you feel as loved and cherished as she could. We will miss her so very much but mom has left us with a lasting legacy of love, hard work and devotion to God, which will leave its mark on our family for generations to come.
Our family would like to thank the caring staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Maples Personal Care Home and Holy Family Nursing Home for making her last years more comfortable.
Friends and family will celebrate mom’s life at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 1:00 pm with viewing at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in mom’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
