Obituary of PETER ALEXANDER KULYK

On November 20, 2015 at Health Sciences Centre, Peter Alexander Kulyk passed away at the age of 68. He is survived by his two children Corrine (Todd), and Craig; his brother Joseph (Gail); sisters-in-law Mary (Rajko), Barbara (Gordon); nieces Courtney, Sue, Carrie, and Carlene; nephews Nicholas and Mark. He was predeceased by his wife Lynn; parents, Ann and Dmytro; sister, Helen; brothers, John and Mike. Peter was born in Winnipeg on September 7, 1947. He graduated from St. John’s High School, University of Winnipeg (Bachelor of Sciences), and University of Manitoba (Bachelor of Education). While in university, he met the love of his life, Lynn. They got married in 1972, spent a year teaching together in Norway House, and re-settled in Winnipeg where they raised their two children. Peter worked for Corrections Canada as the librarian at Stony Mountain Penitentiary. He retired in 2006, after 27 years of service. Peter was a polite, thoughtful, and generous man. He put his family first and spoke often about how proud he was of his two children. He took great joy in spending time with both family and close friends. He also liked walking, reading and CJOB. He was always genuinely interested in other people, and touched many with his positivity, gratitude, and kind-heartedness through even a simple conversation. He will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital 1st Floor Medicine, HSC Ward GH-6 and the MS Clinic for their care, attention and services. Memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, November 28, 1:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A private interment for family will be held next week. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Manitoba Division of the MS Society.
