JOSE TRINIDAD ALVAREZ
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jose Alvarez on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the age of 70.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife Sonia and children; Joeson (Thierry), Juvy (Bonily Malapad), Josie (Wayne Dang), Josephine (Garrick Rokyta) and Jason and will be greatly missed by his twelve grandchildren, Jewellyn, Sarah, Anthony, Natalie, Cody, Tyler, Catherine, Ashley, Amanda, Aaron, Joshua and Cyla. He is predeceased by his parents Aurelio and Natividad Alvarez and sister Ligaya. Survived by his sisters and brothers, Felicidad Vivar (Aniceto), Ruben (Editha), Dan (Marie Fe), Samson (Alicia), Eleanor (Leonardo Guevarra) and Corazon Chavez (Romeo) with numerous nieces, nephews and their children, Roy (pre-deceased 2008), Dana (Alvin), Randy (Sara) Winston (Risha), Wilson (Michelle), Eden (Lazaro), Alison, Everson (Clarisse), Leo (Tracy) and Cynthia.
Jose was born in Cavite City, Philippines on April 16, 1945 where he met his wife of 50 years. The family moved to Canada in December of 1973. He was a very kind and generous husband, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, and brother-in-law that was so dear to him. He unconditionally loved and enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren on family get-togethers, special events and especially having everyone during New Year’s Eve.
In 2010, Jose was a valued employee and happily retired as a Supervisor in the Machine Shop Department of MacDon Industries of 36 years and will truly be missed by his dear friends and co-workers.
He was also well known and loved by the members of the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo) which he had cherished his deepest faith in God and had participated in numerous missionary works.
Among some of his favourite pastimes were fishing, hunting, traveling and throwing a few shots in a basketball hoop but his absolute favourite was taking a nap in his big red comfy rocking chair.
In memory of our loving father, viewing will take place on Sunday November 29, 2015 6:00 p.m. through 12:00 a.m. at the Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The burial will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. commencing at the Cropo Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow and will proceed to Brookside Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
