IAN JOEL HOTOMANI
1960-2015
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ian Hotomani, beloved son, father, uncle, grandfather, cousin, at home in the loving arms of his daughter Rain on November 9, 2015, after a long battle with diabetes.
Ian was born July 26, 1960 in Broadview, SK and the majority of his life he lived in Winnipeg, MB.
He is survived by his mother Ula ,Brother Zachary, Sisters Shirlene, Pam, Bonnie, Sonya, Petula and Varina, Daughters Miranda, Priscilla, Sheena, Marsha, Kirsten and Petula, and numerous children that he cared for and loved, his powwow children, and many family and extended family.
He joins his father Joseph Wasacase, twin sister Ira May, nephew Kyle Bonselaar, grandparents, aunts, uncles and many family.
Ian loved to travel, and experiences new ways of life, meeting new people and encouraging the youth to the powwow circle. Ian will be remembered for all the work he did at numerous schools, community clubs, colleges and universities encouraging youth and adults to learn their traditions, songs and dances.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m at the Deliverance Centre Church, 1831 Selkirk Avenue. Visitation will take place at 12:10 p.m. prior to the service also at the church. A second visitation will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 in the Kahkewistahaw Complex, Kahkewistahaw Reserve, Sask.
