Obituary of JOHN FRANK VERHOSKI
JOHN FRANK VERHOSKI
In loving memory of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, and our brother who after a courageous battle with cancer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his home with his children by his side.
John was born on February 10, 1936 in Winnipegosis, MB. John spent his early years in Dauphin and moved to Winnipeg in 1960. He married Florence, the love of his life, in August of that year.
John was predeceased by his wife Florence (nee Coombs) in January 1991; his mother Mary; his father Frank; and his sisters Mary and Elsie.
Lovingly remembered by daughters Donna (Bob), Adele, Christen and Sharon (Kevin); sons Bryan (Franca) and Michael; granddaughters Tara (Paul), Mary Lynn, Cassandra, and Carissa; great grandchildren Isabella, Brennan, Aiden, and Noah; sisters Anne, Helen, and Emily (Dick); sister in law Aileen (Arnold).
Prayers will be held on Sunday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. As per John’s wishes, there will be a private family service with interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation c/o Palliative Care Program.
The family would like to thank his nurse Ann and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit for their care, support, and compassion.
The most sacred spot on earth to us Is where our loved ones lie As we wander to your graveside we stand and wonder why You suffered much in silence and your spirit did not bend You faced your pain with courage to the very end You fought so hard to stay with us But your fighting was in vain God took you to his loving home And freed you
from all pain Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same No verse, no flowers, no words can say How much we miss you in every way Deep in our hearts the memory is kept Of one we loved and will never forget God calls us one by one Our family chain will link again
- We love you Dad
