Obituary of VICTORIA MARY ELLIOTT
VICTORIA MARY ELLIOTT (nee Peters)
August 17, 1921 to October 4, 2015
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Aunty Vicki on Sunday October 4th, 2015 at the age of 94.
She is survived by her husband Howard Elliott of 25 years and his sons Bob, Doug and the Elliott family. She also leaves to mourn sister-in-law Katherine Peters, her nieces and nephews Robert (Pauline), John (Donna), Barbara, Tim, Cathie, Francis, Eddie (Meryl), Rick, Chris and Susan (Gary) and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anastasia Peters, brothers Frank and Eddie (Bernice) and sisters Jean (John) and Bernice (Nick).
Vicki grew up on Selkirk Avenue right next to the family owned business Arctic Drinks Mfg. She began her long career with the federal government at #7 Depot in Winnipeg, moving to Ottawa for a short time then returning to Winnipeg. She worked at Veterans Affairs for the remainder of her career, where she retired in 1986 as Chief Financial Officer. Auntie Vicki travelled the world with her best friends Ollie and Pat.
After her retirement she met former colleague Howard Elliott and they were married. Together they travelled to Australia, Hawaii and wintered in Palm Springs in their later years.
Vicki enjoyed golfing, the theatre, the Opera, Ballet, and the Symphony. She loved to dance and loved music. Family was most important to her and she loved to be surrounded by her "children", family and friends
Donations in her memory can be made to CNIB or Canadian Diabetes Association.
Mass will be held St. John Cantius Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Avenue on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 10am, with a private interment to follow.
The family would like to thank Seven Oaks General Hospital for their support during this difficult time.
