JOYCE WINONA SCOTT
Peacefully, Joyce passed away on October 1, 2015 after a long and happy life.
She was predeceased by husband George D. Scott, parents, brother Wally Braithwaite, sister Peggy Toyne, and youngest son Gregory Gibbons.
Remaining family left to cherish her memory are daughter Shar Lynn, sons Jim (Iriss) Gibbons, Randy (Rose) Gibbons, step-daughters Gail (Wayne) Steffensen, Leslie (Norm) Way, and her many very special grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Kay Braithwaite.
Joyce was born in Winnipeg on March 31, 1929 and raised four children. In the early 70's she met the love of her life George and they were married in 1978. They enjoyed travel, visiting family and friends and had a close connection to the Ft. Rouge Legion and ANAF Rockwood Unit #303. They had a wonderful life together until George passed away in August 2013.
Joyce's greatest treasure was her family and many dear friends. Her vibrant personality, charm, grace and sense of humour were intact until her passing.
A private family interment was held at the St. Vital Cemetery, Thursday, October 8, 2015.
An open house is being held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the ANAF Rockwood Unit #303, 341 Wilton St, from 2:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m to celebrate her life.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Tuxedo Villa personal care home who contributed to her care and to Cropo Funeral Chapel for their services and assistance.
