Obituary of AL MASON
AL MASON
August 6, 1922 – September 29, 2015
Al was born in Fisher River, Manitoba on August 6, 1922. He married Evelyn in 1945 and they resided in Grand Marais. Al and Evelyn had six children Carol, Reg, Gerri, Elaine, Debra and Kevin; five grandchildren Ivan, Troy, Kelly, Kory and Kinler and one great granddaughter Elissa.
In Al’s early years he was a commercial fisherman with his dad. Then he worked for the Provincial Government in Provincial Parks in the maintenance department. In the early 70’s they moved closer to his work with Abitibi Paper Company in Pine Falls, Manitoba. He worked there for many years as a night supervisor. In the mid 70’s he moved his family to Fort McMurray where he worked as a security guard for Syncrude and Fort McMurray Regional Hospital. After retirement he owned and operated his own cab in Fort McMurray.
He was a very hard working man and always provided for his wife and family. He was a very gentle and caring husband, father and grandfather.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
