Obituary of CZESLAWA (JESSIE) LENKIEWICZ

CZESLAWA (JESSIE) LENKIEWICZ It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, at the age of 93 on September 4, 2015. She was predeceased by her husbands Jan Rurarz in 1951 and Stanley Lenkiewicz in 1986. Her son Chester passed away in 2009. She is survived by her son Marian Rurarz (Debbie) and daughter Jeannie Lenkiewicz, as well as her grandchildren Jeremy (Kayla), Kristen (Kyle) and Mathew (Meagan). Mom was born on November 16, 1921 in a small village, Krzemienna, Poland. She immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1951, where she lived her remaining life. Mom was devoted to her family and was happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending one on one time with her grandkids whose interests she supported, whether she agreed with them or not! Babcia was the hardest working and most caring person, who loved to listen and gave the best advice. She loved to share her stories of her childhood and her younger years, including the hardships she endured during the 2nd World War. She felt these were important stories to tell, as she wanted us to know how fortunate we are to have the life we have today. Mom was an amazing cook and baker. She made the best borscht, cabbage rolls and perogies. Mom loved to garden and was always complimented on her beautiful flower beds and vegetable garden. Lastly, Mom always gave her time to help friends with whatever she was able to do for them. She volunteered for 40 years with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion 246, at which time she made many lasting friendships. As a family we feel so blessed we had such a wonderful mother and grandmother and were able to spend so many quality years with her. She was loved by all of us and she will be missed immensely. You will forever be in our hearts Mom. A special thank you to Mom’s dearest friend Rose Budzinski for her friendship, love and support throughout the years.
