Obituary of WILLIAM (BILL) MINSKY
WILLIAM (BILL) MINSKY
With heavy hearts we wish to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Gido on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital.
Bill leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Sally; his oldest daughter Cynthia (Paul Vincent); his only son Bradley and his youngest daughter Crystal (Maté Radocaj) all of Winnipeg; 10 grandchildren that he adored; Bryce, Haley, Jarrod and Teagan; Duelle, Allyssa, Tyler and Ryan; Payton and Ryden; sister Pauline (Roy Melton); brothers Paul (Marie) and James (Virginia) and sister-in-law Theresa.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother John.
Bill was born in Steinbach, Manitoba. He grew up on a farm in Trentham, Manitoba; he received his grade 12 education in Steinbach. When Bill turned 18 years of age, he came to Winnipeg to work. He travelled across Canada in his younger years, working at many different jobs.
In May 1958, Bill met the love of his life, Sally Krakalovich. In July of 1959 they were wed in Winnipeg and travelled to Sally’s family in Arran, SK for their reception. Bill and Sally started their successful landscaping firm in August 1960. He retired in 1997.
Bill lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed travelling, camping, fishing, hunting, weekend bonfires and parties with his family, relatives and friends. He was a true family man. He was always concerned for his wife and children; they always came first. He was a generous man, helping family members, volunteering for the Church and hosting huge get-togethers at Christmas.
Special thanks to the I.C.U. and the 5th floor nursing staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital for their concern, kindness and loving care for Bill and his family.
Prayers will be sung on Friday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Church with Rev. Bashutskyy officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery.
