Dale was born on August 17, 1956 in Gimli, Manitoba. He spent his early years in Pine Dock until the age of seven when the family moved to Riverton, Manitoba. Dale attended Riverton School where he met many of his lifelong friends.
Dale met his soulmate Kim in 1988 and it was love at first sight, they were inseparable! They spent the next 27 years building a life where family always came first! Dale’s children and grandchildren were the light of his life! Dale especially loved the times he spent with family and friends out in Pine Dock, Beaver Creek and Hecla Island, fishing, swimming, camping, bonfires and watching the stars! He would spend hours just sitting and looking out at the Lake. Dale loved to cook for family and friends on all occasions and was especially known for his weekend breakfasts. He could cook up a storm on a moment’s notice.
Dale was a roofer for 40 years and was one of the best! He was an old school roofer who took pride in his work and really enjoyed working with his roofing buddies and lifelong friends, Gerald Delaronde, Dennis Asselin, Ray, Mario Carloni and Rick Porth. Dale worked in the construction industry and was a commercial fisherman for 10 years on Lake Winnipeg. He also worked for Dakota Ojibway Housing Authority for 10 years as the Maintenance Supervisor.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Health Sciences Centre, MICU for their compassionate care.
The family would also like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Special thanks to Grace Forbister, Wanbdi Wakita, Pahan Pte San Win, Georgina McKay, Odele Kaplun and Terri Hurrell.
