Obituary of CHRISTINA JULIA MARY RIDER
CHRISTINA JULIA MARY RIDER (NEE MORRISSETTE)
With great sadness and heavy heart the family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
Mom was born on December 7, 1940 to Adeline and Frederick Morrissette. She must have been a beautiful baby, because grandma and grandpa went on to have 12 more children after mom's birth.
She married Tom Rider and went on to have 7 children whom will remember her forever, Diane, Tim, Donna Braun (Terry), Brenda Camire (Brad), Christine Rider (Frank Warenko), Samantha Rider (Glen) and David; her much-loved grandchildren, Brandy, Trevor, Christopher, Nicole, Nicholas, Jason, Devon, Mack, Scott, Joseph, Shyla, Jasmine, Thomas, Angel, Joshua and Jayden; great-grandchildren Hayleigh, Ariana, Natara, Owen, and Mya, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Brothers and sisters Roy, Edward, Gordie, Abraham, Roderick (Colette), Florence, Gloria, Joanne (John), Rider in-laws Bud (Shirley), Ann (John), Marjorie, Melvin (Ina), Murray (Barb) and Gerald. She was predeceased by her husband Tom Rider, father and mother, brothers Robert and David Morrissette, sisters Bernice Hall and Sandra Reid as well as her best friend and sister-in-law Margaret.
The family wishes to thank the Seven Oaks Dialysis Unit, handi-transit unit and the home care workers for making it possible for mom to continue living in her own home. To the other dialysis patients and staff, she looked forward your camaraderie and daily conversations. This made her treatments more bearable as she came to consider you all her friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing prior to service at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons and sons-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christina’s memory to the Seven Oaks Hospital Dialysis Unit.
