Obituary of JADWIGA CZEZOWSKI
JADWIGA CZEZOWSKI
Peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Residence, Jadzia, beloved mother of Iruś, Krysia and Edzio passed away.
Jadzia will be sadly missed by her children Irene (Lou) Joyal, Krystyna (Paul) Schinkel, Edward; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Jen), Benjamin (Grace), Jenny, Caitlin (Niels), Drew (Courtney), Carly (David) and Corilyn; six great grandchildren; her sister Mickey; her niece Urszula; sisters-in-law Leona and Sophie and their families. She also leaves family in Poland.
She was predeceased by her husband Wladyslaw; her parents Karol and Kornelia; her brother Boleslaw and her sister Maria in Poland.
Our mother was born March 23, 1927 in Szczalkowce, Tarnopol, Poland. She was taken from home at the age of 14 to Germany to work on a farm during the Second World War. After the war she came to Canada in 1948 and worked as a domestic for Mayor George Sharpe. She met, fell in love and married Walter in May 1949.
She worked as a seamstress at Junior Wear for many years prior to obtaining employment with Boeing Canada, where she excelled and earned merits of achievement, retiring in 1987.
Her passions were singing, gardening, cooking for her family and enjoying the wildlife at the cottage. Jadzia was a member of the St. John’s Cantius Church choir for many years. She sang in the “Pope’s Choir” when Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass at Birds Hill Park in 1984.
During retirement Mom and Dad enjoyed blueberry and mushroom picking at the lake and spending time with their grandchildren. Mom loved to have a good time; she partied and danced with the best of them.
The family would like to thank the nurses, staff and Dr. Terry Babick and Dr. Andrea Babick at St. Joseph’s Residence for their care of Mom.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2015 with viewing at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Jadzia’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
