Obituary of JACK SHINGLETON
JACK SHINGLETON
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Jack Shingleton on March 2 at the Seven Oaks Hospital.
Jack was 92 years of age.
Left to cherish his memory are son William (Marilyn);
daughter Linda (Fred); six grandchildren,
Charity, Aaron (Dulce), Taylor, Jamie, Kristopher (Jen),
Laura (Drew) and three great grandchildren, Lily, Grace
and Genesis.
Jack was born in Winnipeg and spent his early years
growing up in the North End. During the second
World War he joined the Navy and trained as a radar
operator. Returning home after the war he married
Wanda, the love of his life, and together they built
their family home and raised their children.
Jack was a cabinet maker by trade and worked at
Brown and Rutherford Ltd until his retirement.
His carpentry skill was well known and he gave
freely of his time to anyone who asked.
Jack also enjoyed travelling, gardening, duck carving
and the many years spent at the cottage.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their deepest thanks
to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, Your kindness
and compassion were greatly appreciated.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service
celebrating Jack's life will be held at a later date.
Flowers gratefully declined. lf friends so desire,
donations may be made the Winnipeg Humane
Society 45 Hurst Way, Wpg, R3T 929 or to a charity
of one's choice.
