Today we said goodbye to a gentle soul and a great friend. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. Chris, you are a beautiful example of how to live life, how to love endlesslessly and how to share joy with everyone you meet. Your handsome face will be forever etched in my memories and your intuitive ability to understand exactly what other people needed and the ability to love so freely are lessons you have left with us. Not many people leave an impact like you have done on the lives of so many people. I'm a better person for knowing you and for being your friend. I will miss you more than words can say I love you buddy.

I came to know Chris at Camp Neustadt in about 1992 when he was a young teenager. I liked him right away and as I came to know him entrusted him to look after my two sons, Nick and Lucas, several times while I attended events in Gimli. The boys weren't much younger than Chris but young enough not to be left alone. Chris was a big hit, sharing his comic books and games with the boys during these times. I always felt very confident that my boys were safe and entertained while with him. There were times we didn't see Chris for periods of time but were very pleased when he took over the family trailer at the camp and we visited one another during summers for many years. It was sad for us when I heard that he sold his trailer and we probably wouldn't see much of him anymore. However, I did run into him in my travels over the years and it was always as if old family members were meeting once again. Chris was a wonderful person and friend and we'll miss him.

I had the privilege to meet Chris a few times over the past several years - we each owned "trailers" near a campsite near Gimli. He was always such a wonderful person to talk to, and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Heartfelt condolences to his family and close friends; I can't begin to imagine your grief.

Chris and I used to work together and the thing I remember most is his sense of humor. He made me laugh every single day. He was an easy person to be around and a helluva snappy dresser! I wish I had tried harder to keep in touch with Chris when our lives took different paths. I cannot imagine your pain as you say goodbye, I know Chris lives on in many hearts and memories and I hope that brings you some measure of comfort.

I love you Baur. we bonded over Wonder Woman and job stress I'm so glad we did. I only hope some of the warmth you gave to the universe can come and help warm the cold spot your family is left with.

Chris, you touched my life in so many ways. You were always there for me with a hug, a smile and love. So much love. Your kindness and understanding was what made you so special. Your sense of humour was a thing I will never forget. We always had such a good time!! I will forever cherish you and the memories we made. You were a huge part of what made my teenage/adult years the best of my life. I will miss you laugh, your hugs, your smile and how you always called me "Chuck" :) I love you so much. So so much. My warmest hugs, my most heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies to Chris's family and all his other friends. You will always be my Baur and I will forever solely be your Chuck. Xoxoxo.

As a good friend, I am finding it hard to deal with the circumstances in which you left us but can't even imagine what the family is going through. You brought us love, laughter and joy and we will remember that, always. Love, Tan Tan.
