Obituary of DIANNE LYDIA ANDREW
DIANNE LYDIA ANDREW
It is with great sadness that the Andrew family announces the sudden passing of Dianne Andrew at age 66 at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg on January 30, 2015
Dianne was a special woman who deeply touched all of our lives. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Dianne is survived by her sons Curtis (Beverly), Wade, Mark, and daughter Brooke (Aldo) Salazar, brother Kevin (Gayle), Kris and Lindsay Kostyniuk, grandchildren Brianna, Cody, Cassidy, and Jessica. Also left to mourn her passing are her brother-in-law Hugh (Judy), sister-in-law Mary-Ellen (Len) Hogue and their families.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of nearly 43 years Allan Andrew, parents Paul and Alexandra Kostyniuk and grandson Joshua Salazar.
Dianne was devoted wholeheartedly to her family. She had a very strong bond with her mother Alexandra, with whom she had a close friendship her entire life. Mom was an exceptional role model to her children and grandchildren. We have all been inspired by her self-sufficiency, independent nature and strong work ethic.
Dianne had a very nurturing and empathetic nature as a mother and grandmother, which carried over to her more than 30 year career as a dedicated nurse. Her cool head, calmness under pressure and respect for her patients and families were appreciated in the operating rooms where she worked.
She had a remarkable compassion for animals and would never hesitate to take in strays and give them a warm, loving home. In particular we remember Tippy the cat, who was on death’s door and was lucky enough to be saved by Dianne.
Mom had a passion for gardening and baking. It was always a treat to eat her delicious vegetables and culinary creations at family gatherings.
We miss you Mom and we all love you more than words can express.
Our family would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the Paramedics and staff at the Sainte Anne Hospital as well as Health Sciences Centre for their professionalism and compassion at this most difficult time.
A private family function was held for Dianne, and we thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support.
If desired, donations may be made to the Humane Society, D’Arcy’s ARC and Craig Street Cats.
