MARGARET PAULINE WALLBERG

Obituary of MARGARET PAULINE WALLBERG

MARGARET PAULINE WALLBERG It is with deepest sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother at the Middlechurch Home. Mom went to be with her Lord on February 3, 2015 at the age of 100 years. Mom is survived by her son Brent (Helen) of Winnipeg, son Reid (Virginia) of Victoria and grandchildren Mike, Tim, Brenlee and great grandchildren Annarosa & Kazja and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Mom was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 1978 and seven siblings. Mom was born on Sept.27, 1914 in Rosetown, Sask. and was the third eldest of eight children. In the early 1930’s the family moved to Winnipeg after having to abandon their family farm in Sask. due to the drought. They settled in Elmwood. Mom met and married the love of her life, Lawrence, November 16, 1940. They lived in Wisconsin, then Missouri for a few years before moving back to Winnipeg. In the 1950’s Mom and Dad built their cottage at Lakeshore Heights and had many fond memories of family gatherings there. Mom worked as a Librarian at the West Kildonan Public Library for many years. She had a passion for books and kept reading until her eyes failed only a few months ago. She was artistic and loved to sculpt. Mom loved her family with all her heart and looked forward to Christmas; especially the baking from her daughter-in-laws – the more cookies and chocolate the better! Mom always looked forward to phone calls, especially from her son Reid at Christmas time. We would like to acknowledge Mom’s niece, Chris Milloy and her family for all the love and support over the year. For that we are truly thankful. Thank you to the staff at Middlechurch Home, B1, for all your care over the last 10 years. Funeral services will be held at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2015. A private family internment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
