Obituary of MARY REED
CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF MARY REED
(November 5, 1923 - January 18, 2015)
Born in Cooks Creek, Manitoba
Peacefully with her family by her side Mom went to be with the Lord and her son Bob. She is now reunited with them and many more family members whom she loved dearly along with her best friend Denise.
Mom will be deeply missed by her son Glenn, daughter Cheryl Smallwood (Glen), grandchildren Rebecca, David, Christopher, Colin, Stephen and many nieces and nephews.
Mary had a long and full life. She faced some very challenging times raising her children on her own and the road was not always easy. Her whole world was her children and her unselfish personality helped her surpass any difficulty she came across.
At the age of 76, rather than continuing as a Homecare worker, she retired from her job. She willingly and happily decided that she wanted to take care of her grandchildren-Rebecca and David.
We are so very proud of her and what she accomplished in her life along with the many sacrifices she made for her family.
She had a great sense of humor. She could always be seen laughing at her British comedies.
Mary loved to bake and so enjoyed her Ukrainian food.
She was an avid reader, always with a book in her hand. Do not get her started on politics!–she followed it in detail.
Mom loved pets in her life and loved hearing and laughing to all the silly stories of pets in her family’s lives.
We were blessed to have you as our Mom. We will miss you and will always cherish the beautiful memories. Remember, it is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
