JACK TARNAVA
On Thursday, January 15, 2015, Jack passed away at Tuxedo Villa.
Jack is survived by his niece Joanne (Gerry) Loeb and nephew Jim Clysdale.
He was predeceased by his wife Patricia; his parents Constance and Joseph; sisters Jean Tarnava and Pauline Clysdale.
Jack was born June 18, 1924 in Winnipeg. After serving in the Canadian Forces in WWII he attended University of Manitoba where he attained his degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation Jack joined the Greater Winnipeg Gas Company rising to the position of chief engineer. He later attained his MBA from the University of Manitoba.
Jack and Pat were avid Blue Bomber football fans. He also enjoyed a good game of golf.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their care and compassion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place. Entombment will follow at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s memory to the Pulford Community Living Services Inc., 1147 Waverley St. Winnipeg MB R3T 0P4. Telephone 204-284-2255.
