Obituary of KENNETH VICTOR SMITH
KENNETH VICTOR SMITH
December 20, 1962 – December 28, 2014
It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Ken, who will be lovingly remembered and so deeply missed by his beloved wife Leslie of 26 years, two beautiful daughters, Britney Lee, 24 and Alexi Jade, 19 (Tyler). Ken will also be fondly remembered by his brother, Bob (Pat), Sister, Judy (Bill) Oliver, niece Nicole (Max), nephew Mark (Tammy) as well as sister-in-law Leah (Kevin) Erickson and nephew’s Brett and Landon.
Ken was born and raised in Winnipeg. In his early years he was an excellent painter for Security Decorating. He owned and operated two successful Robin’s Donuts outlets and then moved on to start his career with the MLCC in November 1998 until furthering into a management position. Ken was a wonderful husband and devoted father to his two girls. He loved cooking and barbecuing for his family and many friends. Ken loved all animals especially his feline friends. He was a fun, loving, generous, caring person – always willing to lend a hand or an ear to whoever needed it most. Ken enjoyed hockey, curling, fishing, boating and traveling; especially to Mazatlan where he and his family were planning on returning to in March. The pain of losing you is excruciating and indescribable. We don’t know how we will go on without you, but we know you will give us strength and guidance when we need it most.
A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
In lieu of flowers, donations are kindly asked to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Winnipeg Pet Rescue No-Kill Shelter.
Always in our hearts and never forgotten.
Until we meet again.
