Obituary of EDITH KEACH
EDITH KEACH (ROSEVEARE)
July 2, 1933 – December 25, 2014
The family of Edith Jane Keach sadly announce her sudden passing on December 25, 2014.
Edith is survived by her children and their spouses Janie (Randy), Susan (John), Greg (Christy), Alana (Chris) and her grandchildren Nathaniel, Bethany (Tim), Brandon, Scott, Haley, Owen, Danica and Quinn. Edith is also survived by her brothers John and Wallace (Lillian), her sister Emma and extended family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Edward James in 2009 and her parents John Thomas and Dorothy Adele Roseveare.
Edith was born in Carman, Manitoba on July 2, 1933. She grew up on the family farm in Sperling, MB, before marrying Edward on May 22, 1954 and moving to the Elmwood area in Winnipeg where they raised their four children. Edith was a tireless, loving and caring homemaker to her family. She had the gift of hospitality and not a single person crossed her doorstep without the sincere and passionate offer of a cup of tea, some dainties or a full course meal. She loved nothing more than to provide for her extensive family of children and their spouses, her grandchildren and large extended family of nieces and nephews. Edith was an accomplished piano player and instructor who was delighted to share her gift with anyone, young or old, at her piano bench. She could be heard from outside her Carmen Avenue home practising for hours at her piano. Edith loved her neighbours on Carmen Avenue and in the surrounding neighborhood, and was always volunteering at local Teas in the Glenelm area. Following the passing of her husband Edward, she moved to a new residence, Devonshire House II in Transcona and quickly fell in love with her new neighbours and surroundings where she relished entertaining her fellow residents and staff with a selection of tunes on the piano.
The family wishes to thank all the staff and her friends at Devonshire House II for welcoming mom and making her time there so very enjoyable.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edith’s memory to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
Edith will be dearly missed and the many cherished memories we have of her will forever live on in our hearts.
