THERESA LOTZ (nee SESSAN) On Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the age of 76, Theresa Lotz passed away at the Grace Hospital after a brief illness. Theresa was predeceased by her husband Paul, daughter Mary, parents Christine and Adam Sessan, sister Chris, and son-in-law Doug Jaculak. Theresa will be forever loved and remembered by her children June Koster, Irene Jaculak, Helen Fillion, Robert, Kathy Lotz-Dorsh (Jason), Jim (Carolyn) and Michael. Grandchildren: Cindy, Roman, (Lisa), Amanda (Tony), Ryan, Jeff (Janet), Jennifer, Mark, Trent, Rena, Liza and 7 great grandchildren. Theresa will also be missed by her brother John Sessan (Marilyn), sisters Mary Goodmanson (Grant) and Linda Marchinko (Wayne). Theresa was born on February 18, 1936 in Yugoslavia. Theresa met Paul on the ship while immigrating to Canada in 1950 and was married 2 years later. They shared many happy years together through both good and difficult times raising their eight children. Theresa spent the majority of her life residing in Winnipeg’s North End and loved her community. Some of Theresa’s most enjoyable moments were those times spent camping. She enjoyed the Mexico trips with her children, bus excursions with family and memorable times in Las Vegas. A once dedicated bingo player, Theresa enjoyed playing cards into the wee hours of the morning displaying her winning and competitive spirit. These fun times were shared with her children along with great conversation and laughter that surrounded one and all. These times will be irreplaceable and forever cherished. Friends and family will greatly miss her holupchi and perogies that were always available. Theresa’s many other hobbies were, bowling, watching curling and most importantly being an important part of her grandchildrens’ lives. Many charities, schools and organizations benefited from her generous donations of knitted products. Theresa and her knitting companions were recently recognized in the community newspaper for their endless hours of work that generated many donations for their continued support. Theresa was a member of the Canadian German Society for 43 years and made many good friends during her and Paul’s association within the club. She had a very strong faith that was nourished at Immanuel Lutheran Church of which she was a very active member of the LWML-C Ladies Group. Theresa endured some heart issues and a hip replacement and handled it all like a champion. At a time when things were going well an inoperable internal bleed would take her life over a period of a week. It was a supremely difficult time for Theresa’s family and friends knowing the inevitable could be a few hours or days away but in hindsight allowed time and shared moments that some of us never get. Theresa’s strength and acceptance made us proud. This was her essence and the way she lived her life. Theresa would be one to thank people who helped her throughout her lifetime. She loved life and her family and lived her life very authentically. All the happy times shared will now be treasured souvenirs of a special face and a special smile. We would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital for the care provided and knowledge shared that we needed to understand and accept the diagnosis. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, May 31st 2012, at 10:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2528 King Edward Street, Winnipeg, with Pastor Beinert officiating. Although we are not together, we will never be apart FOREVER REMEMBERED, FOREVER CHERISHED
