Obituary of SHARREL GAIL WILLIAMSON

SHARREL GAIL WILLIAMSON October 29, 1948 – December 5, 2014 It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of our beloved wife and mother Sharrel, suddenly on December 5, 2014 at the age of 66. She will be sadly missed by her husband James, daughters Kim (Mark) and Krista (Greg), grandchildren Bradley (Katy), Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Natasha. She also leaves to mourn two brothers Dennis (Sherry) and Dale, three sisters Laurel (Fred), Anita (Mickey) and Karen (Jim) and many nieces and nephews. My wife was born and raised in rural Manitoba where we met and married in 1967. She was devoted to our family and spent her time raising our children, growing her garden and caring for her flower beds. Many hours were spent with Kim shopping for important family functions, watching our grandchildren at sporting events, or floating in the pool on a warm summer day. Time with Krista was spent playing scrabble, helping her with her vegetable garden and fruit trees and teaching her how to preserve the bounty that a garden brings in the fall. She loved teaching both of them the fun (and frustration) of making vinarterta, pönnukökur and perogies. When the three of them would get together for a cooking session the laughter in the kitchen would fill every room in the house. Sharrel was very proud of both of them and could be found talking about them to anyone who would listen. When we were younger, we would take the girls in the fall for picnic lunches, hot chocolate and to help cut wood for the wood furnace. Several summers were spent camping in Riding Mountain National Park where the girls learned to swim. Sharrel enjoyed our trips throughout rural Manitoba to find parts for; and later attend, the antique car shows with our 1932 Ford. We spent many hours travelling to different events throughout Manitoba, and sometimes just to go for a ride to see the scenery. Sharrel enjoyed curling up with a good book, working on a new puzzle, watching to see what birds would come into the yard and playing her little video game. Per her request, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
