Obituary of TRISSIE MURIEL PARKER
TRISSIE MURIEL PARKER
November 22, 1917 - October 30, 2014
After 97 years at full throttle, Trissie ran out of gas and passed away with her loving and caring family at her side.
Trissie was born in West Bromwich, England and during the war served as a proud ambulance driver in London, waiting for her husband John to return from the war.
They immigrated to Canada for a better life, spending nearly 50 years on Dunrobin Ave. with children Gloria and Dennis.
Trissie was always in perpetual motion, first as a Picardy girl, followed by a career in Eaton's shoe department. Finally Trissie and John managed Mini Marts on Henderson Hwy. and The Market in the Maples for many years.
Trissie was adventurous and loved travelling. It was not unusual for the pair to take a casual trip to Grand Forks and end up in Florida.
In her 80's she moved into 1630 Henderson, where she thrived on card games with "the boys", or all-nighters with the girls followed by breakfast at Sal's, squeezing road trips in between to the casinos.
Trissie was also an accomplished painter, showing everyone it's never too late to start.
Trissie was predeceased by her husband John.
She leaves behind daughter Gloria (Neil) Payne and son Dennis (Bettiann) Parker.
Blessed with 5 generations "Big nana" will also be sadly missed by four grandchildren, and their spouses, eleven great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild with whom she had a special relationship, challenging them with her off the wall humour and carefree attitude.
Many thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Home for their loving care, from truly special people.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. With private family interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Middlechurch Home or Charity of your choice.
