Obituary of ANGELA ADAMOPOULOS
It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother (Yiayia) on October 23rd. Angela was born in Kalymnos, Greece on the 13th of October, 1929. She was raised in Athens, where she apprenticed as a seamstress and pursued her profession both in Greece and in Canada. In 1951 she met the love of her life, Constantine Adamopoulos and in December of 1956 she immigrated to Canada to be with him. After their marriage on the 29th of December they settled into Winnipeg, MB and where they joined the Greek Community, which became a central part of her life, through her involvement with the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptohos Society. She will lovingly and eternally be remembered by her three children and five grandchildren: Katherine, Irene and her husband John with their daughters Angela and Christine, Chris with his wife Lisa and their three children Alexander, Stephen and Constantina, her dear brother Emmanuel and twin sister Polyxeni of Greece, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Angelikoula travels peacefully to be reunited with her departed husband. She will be remembered by all who knew her because of her love and compassion. Our entire family wishes to thank all of her friends and St Demetrios family that shared their time and love with her. The health care providers, staff, doctors, nurses, and homecare personnel. All of these people graciously and respectfully cared for her and we are truly thankful to them. We pray for her safe deliverance into peace and serenity. May her memory be eternal.
Services will be officiated by Fr Kosta Tsiolas at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave. Prayers will be held on October 28th at 7pm. Funeral Services will take place on October 29th at 11am with interment to follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens.
