My condolences to family and friends on Leon. He was always passionate about his family and work. I was able to learn from Leon. He was a proud person and carried himself that way. He could always make a tough situation seem less stressful. Regards and I will always remember him.

I went to school with Leon back in 1979-80 as part of the Instrumentation Technology program in Winnipeg. Leon had a love for meeting people that was evident at all times. Funny and smart, Leon loved a good story and was great to be around.
I lost touch with Leon over the years, but many times bumped into people in Instrumentation who knew him. That speaks volumes for what a great guy he was.
Thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Larger than Life - would be the best short description of Leon that I could think of. I am certain that wherever Leon traveled in his life he left an impression and for those who were lucky enough to know him, even for a short time, it was an especially good one.
Leon always had an opinion and was never shy of taking every opportunity to ramble on about almost any subject. I am not a religious person myself but if there is indeed a set of Pearly Gates I am positive that at this moment he is standing in front of them, rambling on to the Creator on how he could go about fixing them up.
As a College and a Friend I am going to miss Leon a lot and I can only wish him the best on his Journey.
My Condolences to his family and only wish that the Knowledge of knowing how many people loved him will somehow be a comfort.
Good Bye my friend.

Dear Jane, Lacey, Trent and Morgan.....
Our family is heartbroken to hear of Leon's passing. He always had such a larger than life personality and is such a part of all the stories and memories we have of Big Whiteshell North Shore. We will always remember him in his hat, shorts and hiking boots, his machete strapped to his belt. He will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Jane, Lacey, Trenton, Morgan, & Leon's entire family
I have indeed been a lucky man to have had the opportunity to not only know Leon as a colleague, but as a friend. He was without question one of the most honest men I have ever known.
His passion and commitment for his work was only surpassed by his love for his family.
I was his boss, but he was my mentor.
I will miss him dearly.
Greg Troilo
