Peacefully, in the early hours of Sunday, May 20th, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Valentine passed away at the age of 85 years. Valentine is now lovingly reunited with her husband John, who predeceased her in March 1996, as well as her parents Joseph and Alexandra Konobay, and her dear in-laws Martin and Catherine Turek.
Valentine leaves to mourn her passing, her only son Dennis and wife Arlene, as well as her three precious grandchildren, Sherie Lynn,(Jeff), Robert (Melissa), and Michael (Carly), and her great grandchildren, Abigail, Sadie and Ashlee. Her brother-in-law Walter (Elaine) Turek, for which she always had a special place in her heart, will miss her dearly. Valentine was born in Bialystok, Poland and came to Canada after the War, where she met her husband John in Toronto. They married and lived in Winnipeg’s north end for all of their lives together. Valentine’s most precious times were spent with her entire family at Twin Lakes Beach. She was also a life-long member of the Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society and the Canadian Polish Athletic Club.
Valentine’s wishes were to have a Private Family Celebration of her Life.
The family wishes to thank the staff , of Unit 5, at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and particularly Dr. T. Buschell. Dennis would also like to thank Mary, at Arlington House, for all the care she extended to Valentine.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch Unit 1-452 Dovercourt Dr. Winnipeg, Manitoba R3Y 1G4, 989-0800.
