Obituary of KRYSTYNA STRYKOWSKI

KRYSTYNA STRYKOWSKI (NEE WANIC) 1928-2014 Leaving to mourn her passing on June 9, 2014 are her daughters Irene and Margaret; sister Maria Szymczak in Arizona; brother Henryk Wanic (Anna) in Winnipeg and brother Jan Wanic in Poland. She was predeceased by her husband Tony in 2005. Krystyna was born in Poland. In 1940 Krystyna and her family were taken to Siberia. In 1946 she returned to Poland and attended school and graduated obtaining a profession as a supervisor in a nursery school and later was in charge of an adoption agency. In 1959 Krystyna immigrated to Canada and married Tony Strykowski. They had twin daughters Irene and Margaret. Krystyna was employed for 20 years with the City of Winnipeg-she worked hard all her life to support her family. She loved cooking and baking her favourite Polish dishes and pizza. Crocheting slippers gave her a lot of pleasure. Special thank you to her home care worker Francita, for her unconditional love and care. Rosary will be said on Wednesday, June 18 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arthritis Society. “Wieczny odpoczynek racz Jej dac Panie.”
