Obituary of ANNA POCZYNOK
ANNA POCZYNOK
August 11, 1913-May 7, 2012
Anna will forever be cherished in the hearts of her son Michael and daughter in law Pat, her extended family Marianne and Morris, Susan and Alvin and all their children. She was Baba to Dalilah, Sheila, Nick, Dustin Chrystal and Corrinaa, and known by everyone else as Mom or Mama. Her husband Konrad and many of her immediate family in the Ukraine predeceased her.
Anna was born in the Ukraine and left home in 1939 to work in France where she met and married Konrad. In 1950 they moved to Dauphin MB with their bundle of joy Michael. They made it through a few hard winters and eventually purchased their home on Wellington Cres. With Konrad’s gardening credentials and her passion their home became a showcase of flowers that won them numerous awards. She never lost her zeal for gardening and the outdoors. You could always find her digging around in our back yard. Another passion she acquired was riding around on the golf cart Sunday afternoons and, in her way, critiquing everybody’s golf game. Being with family in Winnipeg the last ten years filled her heart with joy.
Thank you to the people at Bethania Personal Care Home and special thanks to St Boniface Hospital, for opening their hearts and caring for her over the years.
