EDMUND STEPHEN SIWIK March 21, 1943 – April 6, 2014 Peacefully on April 6, 2014 Ed went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Left to celebrate the memory of his life are sister-in-law Pat; nephews Teddy, Rob (Jen) with children Keila, Mirah; niece Carla (Jamie) with children Max, Samuel; cousin Walter, family & friends. Ed was predeceased by his father Stefan, mother Adeline and brother Kas. Ed had a passion for painting, pen and ink sketching, design and gourmet cooking. In his early years he enjoyed traveling to destinations such as Jamaica and Mexico. Ed was a Manager of the Stage Door - Winnipeg Inn, St. Charles Golf & Country Club and other Hotels and Legions in the city. He completed his work years as a Resident Aid at St. Amant Centre where he worked with his nephew Teddy. Ed had a keen interest in owls, his home filled with a variety of sculpture and artwork. Devoted to family, Ed loved babysitting his nephews and nieces and faithfully cared for his mother after his father passed away. Ed's positive attitude, love, kindness and caring compassion will always be remembered. Special thanks to Barbara his faithful next door neighbour and long-time friends Warren & Joanne. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Amant Foundation or to Canadian Diabetes Association.
