Obituary of PAUL MCKAY

PAUL MCKAY Peacefully, on March 20, 2014, Paul McKay from St. Laurent, MB, passed away at the age of 81 years, at Maples Personal Care Home. He is survived by son Ambroise McKay; granddaughter Tamara Lavallee; brothers Albert (Donna), Emile (Darlene); sisters Rosalie Chartrand, Irene Luik; nephew Harold Olson (Monica); Jacqueline Boudreau mother of his children. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his son Paul Jr. 2002; parents Ambroise and Amelie (nee Richard) McKay both in 1980, brothers Arthur 2009, Stanley 1997; sisters Marie Thiessen 1983, Herveline Desjarlais 2004, Elsie Olson 2000, Dora Premack 1994, Victoria 1945, Clemence 1946, Elizabeth 1946. Paul was born October 13, 1932 in St. Eustache, MB and raised in St. Laurent. As a young man he went to work in the bush camps in Ontario. He was also a fisherman on Lake Manitoba for many years. He loved farming, hunting and fishing. Paul moved to the Maples Personal Care Home seven years ago and that was his final home. Family wishes to thank the staff at the Home for taking good care of him. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27 at St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, St. Laurent, MB with Rev. Fr. Michel Nault officiating. Burial will take place at the Cemetery following the service. If so desired, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to the Maples Personal Care Home, 500 Mandalay Drive, Winnipeg MB R2P 1V4 or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
