Obituary of ELSIE WOYTKO

ELSIE WOYTKO April 25, 1925 - March 19, 2014 We are saddened to announce that peacefully, at Holy Family Home with her daughter by her side, Mom passed away at age 88, on Wednesday, March 19th, 2014. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Roy; parents Peter and Daria, brothers George and Bill, sisters Ann and Olga. Left to cherish her memory are daughter April (Michael McMahon), son Day (Lucille Arnason), grandchildren Erin and Drew; brother-in-law George Feschuk; nieces, nephews and many close dear friends. Mom was born in Rama, SK and moved to Winnipeg at an early age. She grew up in the Point Douglas area, attending both Norquay and Aberdeen School. In 1943, Mom met Dad, the love of her life, and they married on November 24, 1945. At that time, they began a long and successful journey in the Hotel business that involved; the Royal George Hotel, Hotel Hamilton (Neepawa), and Kildonan Motor Hotel. Mom was with Dad every step of the way over their 58 years in the business. Whether in the kitchen at home, or the Hotel, Mom was well known for her culinary abilities and hospitality. Together, their years of hard work and long hours were rewarded with many lifelong friendships. In later years, Mom and Dad shared many great times, and had fond memories of their travels with close friends and relatives. Mom had that special smile, was kind and generous to a fault, and always made things better with her loving care and attention. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Family meals and gatherings were her favorite times, she always made sure they were extra special, no matter the occasion. At Mom’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will occur. We are sincerely grateful for the kind and considerate care Mom has received at Holy Family Home over the past 4 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Association of Manitoba.
