Obituary of LESGAR LEON JONES

LESGAR (LES) LEON JONES 83, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on March 17, 2014 at Betel Home in Selkirk, Manitoba. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Winnipeg, on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:00 am. Les was born in Linstead, Jamaica on July 1, 1930. He is survived by Muriel Jones, his 4 children, Milson of Winnipeg, Sally of Winnipeg, Patrick of Calgary, Leslie of Winnipeg, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Mabel his father Simeon, his brother Easter and his sister Fay. Les will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Les was an outstanding carpenter and while he was a resident of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, he was a member of the Rankin Inlet Dart Association. He thoroughly enjoyed listening to music, wood working and football. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Betel Home in Selkirk, Manitoba for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Society.
