ANNE SQUIRK

Obituary of ANNE SQUIRK

ANNE SQUIRK 1915 – 2012 A Memorial Service for Anne will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Anne will be very much missed by her family and friends. She leaves her daughter Virginia Ona Main (husband James) and her son Howard Michael Squirk (wife Betty Ann) and cousin Ed Bodnar and family. Born and raised in Winnipeg, she died peacefully in her sleep on January 16, 2012, just before her 97th birthday. Anne was a widow, having been married to Michael Squirk, now deceased, for many years. They enjoyed many leisure activities together, attending meetings, social events, having friends in, dancing, singing, joining the Archeological Society and going on digs, etc. She really enjoyed her work with the Hudson Bay Company for 24 years, making an impression on so many that they still remembered and greeted her years later. Through the years, Anne was very creative and loved learning new skills and meeting fellow enthusiasts. She belonged to the Winnipeg and Manitoba China Painters and to the Manitoba Doll Club. Anne has left behind beautiful examples of her work for us to cherish and remember with joy and great affection. Anne touched many hearts with her inspirational personality. As one friend put it, "She was a gift to the world". The family wish to thank the caring medical teams at St. Boniface Hospital and the Deer Lodge Centre for the support and attention they gave so freely and well.
