Obituary of Stephie Zurba

STEPHIE ZURBA It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Stephie Zurba on December 11, 2010. She was predeceased by husband Peter, mother Mary and father John. Stephie leaves to mourn, son Ron (Donna); granddaughter Marissa (Andrew); sister-in-law Olga; nephews Gary, Robert, Walter; niece Barbara; cousin John (Pearl) and other caring family and friends. Mom was born in Poland in 1926 and came to Canada with her mother and father to escape the harsh conditions at the time. She settled in Winnipeg, met my father Peter, married and provided a caring home for family and friends. Mom spent her early years in both retail and grocery sales. In her many years of good health, Mom enjoyed entertaining family, travelling, Vegas trips and her countless casino trips with special friend Marlene. As her health started to decline she spent time playing Bingo, and putting together puzzles with her friends at her home, St. Vital Knights Villa. Thank you all for your kindness toward Mom. The family would also like to thank the team of Paramedics and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their care and compassion. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Inkster. A private family interment will be at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens on Thursday.
