Obituary of Mihael ZOBARICH
MIHAEL ZOBARICH
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mihael on August 22, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 70.
Mihael is survived by his loving wife Anna; sons Mike and Richard; 5 grandchildren; sister Merica and other extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents Mihael and Antonija.
Mihael was born October 31, 1938 in Prilipe, Slovenia. He married Anna in Italy and came to Canada in 1960. Mihael had a successful dental, crown and bridge business for many years. He was a former president of the Canadian Slovenian Cultural Society (CSCS). He was very passionate about music. This involved founding the first Slovenian radio program on CJOB in the 1970's, co-founding the Zvon Singers who entertained us with traditional folk songs for over 40 years, and was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes church choir.
The family would like to thank Rev. Fr. Stan Gacek, the loving support of the Slovenian community in Winnipeg, as well as the nurses and doctors at the Health Sciences Centre.
Prayers will be said on Tuesday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 95 MacDonald Avenue. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in Mihael's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
