Obituary of Judy Yanicki

JUDY LILLIAN YANICKI (nee Pidstawka) June 13, 1944 - May 27, 2011 At 66 years of age and after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, mom passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Judy leaves behind to mourn her passing her husband Louis, daughters Shelley (Glenn), Debbie (Jim), Lorrie (Brian), son Tim, son-in-law Darren, grandchildren Amber, Kaylee, Tyler, Nicole and Chase, brother Bob (Irene), niece Darlene (Rene) as well as many family and friends to numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Rose. Judy grew up in Silver, Manitoba then moved to Winnipeg and became a teacher. She married Louis and started a family then her career at Josten's Canada in the Jewellery, Yearbook and Photo Plants. She earned much respect and admiration. Her family was always a priority and the grandchildren were her pride and joy. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed her crafts, travelling and gardening including the collection of a variety of lilies. She was well known for her generous and caring nature. The family would like to thank all for their care and compassion and doctors D. Haiert, R. Wong, J. Liu, J. Gingerich, G. Lipinski, T. St. Godard, J. Wong and their staff, surgeons and staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, and Allison and Lana and staff from the WRHA Palliative Care Program. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Rev. Fr. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating, cremation to follow.
