Obituary of Bernice TIMO

BERNICE SYLVIA TIMO (N�E MARTINIUK) (1933-2011) After visiting with family on June 27th, Bernice peacefully passed away at St. Boniface Hospital after a brief struggle with cancer. Bernice leaves to mourn her passing her many nieces and nephews, Andrea, Janet, Carol, David, Terry-Jane, Robert, Ronnie, Matthew and Karen; brother-in-law, Edward (Starodub); sisters-in-law, Mary (Starodub), Doris (Martiniuk), Terry (Martiniuk) and Kathleen (Martinuk); the family of her mother (Stefanyshyn); and the family of her cousin, Walter (Martyniuk). Bernice was predeceased by her beloved husband John; her parents, Michael and Pearl; brothers, William, Andrew, Stephen, John and Myron; and sister, Anne. Bernice grew up in East Lower Fort Garry (RM of St. Clements), but after marrying John, moved to East Kildonan and worked for twenty-five years at Air Canada. Bernice enjoyed travel and together with her husband, visited a variety of destinations both within and outside Canada. After his passing, Bernice became more fully involved in the life of her parish and the life of her new home at Valhalla Cove. The family would like to thank the staff of Homecare Manitoba and the WRHA Palliative Care Program for allowing Bernice to remain in her home for as long as possible and the staff at Concordia and St. Boniface Hospitals for their excellent care. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, July 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt and Munroe with interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street. Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Eucharist Council #11330. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the WRHA Palliative Care Program at St. Boniface Hospital.
