Victor Thordarson It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Victor, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on August 1, 2010 at Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 92 years. Besides his wife Thruda (Trudy) he is survived by two daughters Vickie (Rick) Timmers and Joann (Sam) Shields, four grandchildren Gwillyn (Travis) Cote, Casie (Matt) Nishi, Tyler (Kelly), and Daniel (Cindy), and three great-grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his fourth great-grandchild. He also leaves to mourn his passing brothers Herb and John. He was predeceased by his brother Frank and his parents. Victor was born in Winnipeg on November 16, 1917 and was raised in Los Angeles California. He acquired his electrical trade from his enlistment with the U.S. Army 222nd Signal Corps and was a veteran of the Second World War. Victor was a member of the Beaver Masonic Lodge and also a member of the Khartum Temple Shriners "Skooter Patrol" The family would like to thank the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for the quality of care. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Victor's wishes, a private family Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street. Interment will follow at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in Victor's name. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
