Obituary of Ferol Streilein
Ferol Hope Streilein (nee Lerch) August 14/1961 - March 30/2011 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ferol Streilein at the age of 49 years. After a lengthy battle with cancer, with her family by her side at Seven Oaks Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Anna Lerch.
She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Grant and two daughters, Vanessa and Cindy, brothers Garth (Carolyn), Gordon, and sister, Faye (David). Also numerous nephews, nieces, friends, and long-time friend Monique Menard.
Ferol was born in Calgary and at the age of three moved to Winnipeg. She attended Heritage Elementary, Spring Hill Junior High, and graduated from Sturgeon Creek Regional Secondary School. Ferol worked at Federated Insurance, Holy Family Nursing Home, Meadows West Day Care, and Tyndall Park School. She also volunteered her time at Tyndall Park School, and Fred Douglas Nursing Home. Ferol met her knight in shining armour, and her and Grant were married on July 18, 1981. Shortly after that Ferol and Grant purchased their home in Tyndall Park, and raised their family there. Taking care of her family was Ferol's number one priority. She was also a loving and caring daughter to her parents and spent many hours looking after their needs as well. She loved going to Grand Forks and Fargo on long weekends. Trips to California and Florida were fond memories. Also travelling throughout Manitoba and enjoying our beautiful lakes. She also loved going on picnics and bonfires. She had a wonderful sense of humour and outlook on life.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Science Center and Cancer Care for their help and support. Most of all Grant, Vanessa and Cindy would like to thank Faye for all her help, care and love at this difficult time. Ferol's disease never brought her spirits down and she fought with great fortitude and faith. God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not meant to be. So He put His arms around you, And whispered "Come to Me". With tearful eyes we watched you, As we saw you pass away. Although we love you deeply, We cannot make you stay. Your Golden Heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
