Obituary of ALBERT FRANK LEDGER

ALBERT FRANK LEDGER On March 15, 2012, Albert passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 90 years. Albert is survived by his wife Stella; son Bryan Ledger; grandchildren Justine Ledger and Christopher Ledger. Albert’s rich, full and happy life began in Winnipeg. He would spend his childhood in rural Manitoba near Ste. Anne, where he attended Lilyfield School. Albert learned a great work ethic at an early age; taking on farm related jobs until he joined the military at the onset of WWII, Albert served his country in the European Theatre. After the war, Albert met the love of his life Stella Bencharski, they married and settled in Winnipeg They recently danced at their 60th anniversary and were inseparable. Albert worked hard as a civic employee for many years making great friends and retiring in the mid 80’s. Albert enjoyed cottage life, the outdoors, numerous summer days spent with great friends. As well he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Albert was a great dad, and grandpa, he enjoyed an active part in his son Bryan’s numerous activities including hockey and motocross and was especially proud of grandson Christopher’s exploits in Tim Bits hockey and granddaughter Justine’s dance and musical talents. Albert loved all of the Bencharski family, he also loved and respected his Queen and country. He remained good humoured until the end. Albert will be profoundly missed by all those folks who knew him, The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness and great care. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert’s memory to a charity of your choice.
