Julian Smolenski

After a lengthy illness, Julian passed away peacefully on September 28, 2008, at the Health Sciences Centre.

Julian dearly beloved husband of Mrs.Janina Smolenski was born in Poland on January 1,1931 and came to Canada in 1955.

He settled in Winnipeg and in 1970 he married his wife Janina. He worked in the Maintenance Dept. of University of Manitoba. He was predeceased by his parents Felicia and Stanislaw.

He leaves to mourn, his wife Janina; his brothers: Stanislaw with wife Elizabeth and Andrew with wife Maria; niece Margaret Switala with husband Jack and two sons; nephew Mark with wife Lee-Ann and his three children; and two nephews Joseph and Les. Also very dear friends who provided much help during his illness Jolanta and Mark Jakowczyk, and Elizabeth Mong with family and other family members in Canada and Poland.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
