PETER DANIEL SMITH

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother and Friend, Peter Daniel Smith on Tuesday October 12, 2010 at the age of 54.

Peter was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on December 17, 1955 and eventually settled, as a child, with his family in Transcona, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Peter was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 511, where he was employed by Flynn Canada Ltd. Peter loved to work with his hands and was always willing to help family and friends with any project. One of Peter's greatest pleasures was to spend time at the family cottage located at Gull Lake. He worked hard to make it a place where his sons and daughter could bring their children to enjoy many family gatherings.

Left to mourn are; Peter's wife Linda, his sons Don, and Jamie (Crystal) and his daughter Corralie (Jody Champagne); his parents Nelson and Edna; his brothers Brian (Doreen), David (Charlotte), Paul (Karen) and John Boston, his grandchildren Kayla, Maya, Owen, Emma, Erika, and Jessica, as well as numerous in laws, nephews, and nieces. Peter was predeceased by his mother in-law Elizabeth Nobiss and father in-law Thomas Nobiss, sisters- in-law, Elsie Smith, Geraldine Nightingale, and brother in-law Leonard Nobiss.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Nobiss, John Nobiss, Al Nightingale, Tom Henderson, Dwight Galbraith, and Alex McCorriston.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Saturday October 16th, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel located at 1442 Main St, in Winnipeg Manitoba. Donations can be made in Peters name at the Cancer Society of Manitoba at 193 Sherbrook Street.
