Obituary of Nadia Slusar

NADIA SLUSAR March 27 , 1923 - December 24, 2010 With profound sadness we announce the passing of Nadia Slusar at the Riverview Health Centre on December 24, 2010. Nadia was predeceased by her husband Peter, sister Martha and her parents, Wasyl and Pawlina. She will be loving missed by her sister Eugenia, her brother-in-law Wasyl Kucharsky, and her best friend Michael Muzychenko, as well as, three nephews and their families in the Ukraine and Russia. Nadia also leaves many friends in Winnipeg. Nadia was born in Natuchayewka, Kuban. She married Peter in 1941. During the Second World War,1943, they were sent to Austria to work on a farm. After the war they were in the Displaced Persons camp until 1953. It was in that year that they immigrated to Winnipeg. Nadia worked at a garment manufacturer as a sample maker. They were members at St. Mary the Protectress Sobor. It is with deep gratitude that we thank her family and friends who visited her during her illness in hospital and at home as well as Dr. Husarewych, Dr, Yip Benson, Dr. Daeninck, Dr.Crawford and Dr. Oharenko and all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and the St. Boniface Hospital. A special thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre and to S. Lebedine, and neighbors Darlene and Darce. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
