Peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, Jean passed away at St. Joseph's Residence at the age of 89 years.

Jean is survived by son Ronald (Adel); grandchildren Christine, Dale (Peggy) with their daughter Macara, Suzanne (Randy) Marquette with their son Austin; sister Frances Pala.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Nick Slobodian.

Jean was born in Mariebo, Denmark on June 20, 1918 to Joseph and Julie Pala.

The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Joseph's Residence for their care and compassion.

In accordance with Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to your favourite charity.
