Obituary of Violet SAPACH
VIOLET SAPACH
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Violet Sapach on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 89.
Born in the rural municipality of Senkiw, MB, Violet spent her young life on the farm with her parents. She married Mike in 1944 and they moved to their own farm in Carlowrie, MB, in 1950. They retired in 1966 and she eventually moved to Lion's Manor in Winnipeg in 2009.
Violet was predeceased by her husband Mike in December 2007; parents William and Mary Salamandyk; brothers John, Peter and sister Anne Fedirchuk
Violet is survived by her son Larry of Austin, TX, daughters Louise Gagnon (Wayne Coates) of Vancouver, BC, and Pat (Norm) Walters of Winnipeg, her only grandchild, Lori Walters (Bahaa Awadh) of Deep River, ON, sisters Margaret Paley and Olga Kasian and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, March 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 590 Alverstone St., with Rev. Fr. Michael Krochak officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Josephat's Ukrainian Catholic Church or the Grace Hospital Research Foundation.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Lion's Manor and Grace Hospital for their dedicated attention to our Mom and Baba.
