Jack Roman

Obituary of Jack Roman

Jack Roman Predeceased by his son Jim, and his sister Bernice Dufaut, Jack left us on September 13, 2010, after a long and suffering struggle with congestive heart failure. Jack is survived by his wife Sue, who tirelessly cared for Jack until the end, and his son Tom, and his wife Marion, of Coquitlam, BC. Also missing Jack is his sister Mildred and her husband John Berglund of Owatonna, MN. Nephew Gordon Anaka, will also be missing Uncle Jack. Jack grew up in Winnipeg. He joined the Canadian Air Force during World War II, when he received by mail his draft papers for the Canadian Army. He sailed on the Queen Mary to England, and served his country as a wireless air gunner. Jack enjoyed fishing with Uncle Henry, hunting ducks and prairie chicken with Jerry Krischuk, and being with good friends. Jack was saddened in recent years as his old friends progressively passed away. Jack was employed by Canada Packers, St. Boniface, and worked unceasingly as their Traffic Manager. He was a very respected manager. Jack struggled after the death of his son Jim. His zest for life somewhat dimmed after Jim's death. Jack was a courageous man though who kept going in spite of the grief that he carried. He stood by and helped his son Tom, greatly, during Tom's difficult times. Good bye Dad! Good job Dad! Rest now. We hope that you are finally spending time with Grandpa, catching up with Jim and Bernice, and having a good laugh with your friends. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The rest of us will miss you, because we loved you very much.
