Gloria ROBERTSON

Obituary of Gloria ROBERTSON

Gloria C. Robertson After a courageous 13-month battle in hospital, Gloria passed away suddenly at the age of 71. Gloria will be missed by her Husband Robert, her sister Janet Scradneck and sister and brother in law Betty and Jack Gales, as well as nephews and nieces Richard, Ronald (Mary), Robert, Velvet, Shelley (Britt), Kerry (Donna), and Kim. She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Mary, as well as brother in law Walter Scradneck. Gloria was a precious person who touched and gladdened the hearts of all who met her, especially her devoted husband who tried always to be her protector; they met in high school and were inseparable. Gloria and Bob were not just wife and husband but soul mates and the very best of friends. There was not much in life that didn't bring a smile to her face. She loved all nature, and especially simple pleasures. She loved spending time at the cottage and kept it spotless just as her home. She loved to golf and never passed a chance to go golfing. Gloria graduated from Lord Selkirk High School in 1955 while winning a scholarship to Success Business College. After which she worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance for 18 years, working her way up to Office Supervisor. Realizing she wanted something more, she left that position and became a Teachers Aide at Springfield Heights School, loving every day as Aide in Grade 3 classes, where she remained until her retirement in 1992. She especially enjoyed when children, now adults, recognized her and said hello. All of whom she remembered when they gave their name. She lovingly nurtured a beautiful garden of many different flowers at her home and the cottage. Every year adding more and different species. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Science Centre GA5 for all their care and support. Funeral Service will be held March 10, at 2:30 p.m at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main St with Father James Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
